Pleasant Mount Welding designed & fabricated this aluminum flat panel cover system for the Hartford Water Pollution Control Facility in Hartford, Connecticut. Plant Operators need access to the troughs below the covers for cleaning & maintenance purposes. The original design of this cover was to use aluminum checker plate covers with thousands of bolts to fasten them down. PMWI was asked to come up with an alternative solution for more efficient maintenance tasks. Our solution was this combination of fixed & hinged aluminum cover panels with slam latches for fastening. Not only did this design make maintenance tasks more efficient, it decreased the overall cost of the cover system.
